Annapolis, MD / PRWeb / October 6, 2015—RadSite™, a national leader in the accreditation of advanced diagnostic imaging systems, announces that it has released a completely redesigned version of its online accreditation application portal and software to support the MIPPA Accreditation Program (MAP).

RadSite’s MAP program allows providers who bill the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for CT, MRI, PET and SPECT procedures to apply for accreditation as required by the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) of 2008. Typically an extensive procedure that must be completed every three years, RadSite’s enhanced online portal seeks to streamline this process for providers, making it much faster to provide the required documentation and complete approval.

As was the case previously, RadSite’s accreditation application can be completed online, eliminating the need to mail paper forms or CDs with medical images. However, the new web portal is designed to be much more intuitive and interactive for users, making it easier to fill out information and upload supporting documents. The online form wizard streamlines completion of sections based on previous responses, allowing providers to skip sections that do not apply to their facility.

“We recognize that imaging providers have to juggle many competing demands for their time, so completing what is traditionally viewed as tedious paperwork is not something many people look forward to,” said Garry Carneal, JD, MA, Chair of the RadSite Advisory Board. “RadSite is seeking to change that perception by making our new portal software both intuitive and intelligent. When an online application is easy for a user to navigate and smart enough not to ask redundant questions, the entire process becomes much more efficient.”

The enhanced application portal also boasts greater multi-site efficiency: an imaging manager overseeing multiple sites can access all applications with a single login, and components of one application that apply to multiple sites only have to be entered once. Previous information is conveniently stored for when a provider needs to make updates or re-apply for accreditation.

“Having used RadSite’s online application system for multiple imaging facility locations, I can certainly speak to the efficiency of the latest version of the software,” said Shane Bannister, RT (R), (MR), MRI manager for several SimonMed provider locations and a user of both the original and upgraded application portal. “RadSite has really found a way to optimize my time by streamlining their assessment questionnaire and allowing me to share relevant information across applications for multiple imaging locations.”

In addition to streamlining the accreditation process, RadSite offers several other benefits, including an educational approach to evaluating providers, technical component requirements designed to match each facility’s specific needs and a low, straightforward pricing structure. Every incoming applicant is assigned a personalized account manager who is familiar with the applicant and their facility so that a provider never has to wait on hold in a call center to get a question answered.

“The purpose of the redesign was to make the application process as painless for providers as possible,” said Eliot Siegel, MD, RadSite’s Chief Technology Officer and Chair of the Accreditation Committee. “RadSite is taking advantage of state of the art web based technology to automate the application process wherever possible so that imaging providers can focus their time on what matters most: providing quality care to patients.”
