Happy Summer! RadSite continues to work on several important initiatives. Here are some updates:
Remote Scanning Industry Survey
- RadSite is seeking valuable feedback from those involved in remote scanning programs. If you are, directly or indirectly, involved with a remote scanning program, fill out our remote scanning industry survey here. The survey assesses the scope of remote scanning, professional staff training, certification requirements, operational parameters, and technical specifications. Responses will remain confidential.
Other Remote Scanning (RS) Updates
- 2021 RS Policy. In 2021, RadSite adopted a policy for remote scanning covering MRI and CT imaging. Currently, RadSite accredited imaging suppliers self-attest that they comply with the policy. RadSite then periodically audits the remote scanning programs to ensure they continue to meet policy requirements.
- 2024 RS Accreditation Program. Over the past year, RadSite has been drafting new standards that will become a separate accreditation module called the Remote Scanning Accreditation Program Standards and Guide, version 1.0. These new standards establish more extensive professional, operational, and system requirements. RadSite is on track to launch its new Remote Scanning Program in September. Recently, RadSite has been working with leading experts to update its physics requirements and MRI safety standards. RadSite aims to complete the revised Standards this fall and release the new version in 2025. If you would like a copy of RadSite’s current standards, click here.
- MRI Safety Manual. The American College of Radiology recently released a new version of its Manual on MR Safety. To view or download a copy, click here.
- Payer Update. If your imaging facility works with EviCore/EverNorth, review the benefit managers updated network and accreditation standards. Among other requirements, EviCore/EverNorth notes: “Effective September 1, 2024: All accreditation renewals must include each accreditation module / testing area / specialty module for the services that are billed by EviCore.” Contact Garry Carneal to learn more.
