Volunteers Needed to Serve on Accreditation and Standards Committees

Annapolis, MD / PR Web / April 30, 2019 — RadSite™, a leading accreditation organization promoting quality-based imaging practices, is seeking nominations to serve on its Accreditation and Standards Committees to support the organization’s quality benchmarking activities for advanced diagnostic imaging.

“It is always exciting to work with the diverse volunteer stakeholders who sign up annually to help optimize RadSite’s quality-based mission and the MIPPA Accreditation Program,” said Garry Carneal, JD, MA, RadSite president and CEO. “The Accreditation and Standards Committees help promote accountability and transparency in terms of how RadSite develops standards and accredits imaging provider, covering MRI, CT and PET/SPECT equipment.” Mr. Carneal has served as RadSite’s President & CEO since 2010 and has brought over 20 accreditation programs to market in healthcare since 1996.

“RadSite’s MIPPA Accreditation Program incorporates key process and outcome measures, with the goal of promoting best practices and reducing patient radiation dose,” reports Eliot Siegel, MD, RadSite’s Chief Quality Officer and Standards Committee Chair. “The additional peer review by qualified third-party representatives will further enhance RadSite’s standards development, accreditation review process, and research activities,” notes Dr. Siegel.

RadSite is seeking a variety of stakeholders to serve on the following committees:

  • Accreditation Committee, which oversees RadSite’s accreditation activities for imaging facilities and systems
  • Standards Committee, which helps develop new quality and performance programs, along with revisions to the existing standards, based on emerging best practices and new regulatory requirements.

Committee members are appointed to one-year terms, which can be renewed for additional terms. RadSite is soliciting imaging providers, radiologists and other healthcare professionals, consumer representatives, business experts, employer representatives, association executives and government officials to serve on its committees.

RadSite offers accreditation programs that promote best practices in imaging and other specialty services across the United States and its territories. RadSite also supports a number of educational and research initiatives promoting quality, patient safety, radiation dose reduction, innovation and other public policy goals.
