Annapolis, MD and Houston, TX / PRWeb / February 13, 2014RadSite™, a national leader in the certification and accreditation of diagnostic imaging systems, and now an official accrediting body as designated by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), is seeking board and committee nominations to support the organization’s quality benchmarking activities. RadSite’s programs help assess, track and report imaging trends in an effort to enhance imaging procedures and outcomes.

“RadSite’s quality benchmarking activities incorporate key process and outcome measures, with the ultimate mission of improving image quality and reducing patient radiation dose,” reports Cherrill Farnsworth, RadSite Advisory Board chair.  “The additional peer review by qualified third-party representatives will further enhance RadSite standards and its research activities.”

According to Garry Carneal, JD, MA, RadSite president & CEO, “It is exciting to see the growing community of volunteers who are invested in promoting patient safety in the imaging arena. As part of our mission, RadSite needs input from a wide range of stakeholders to critique and monitor our programs.” Mr. Carneal is a nationally known expert in innovative accreditation program development.

RadSite is seeking a variety of stakeholders to serve on its:

  • Advisory Board, which supervises most of the strategic operations, including the Accreditation and Standards Committees
  • Accreditation Committee, which oversees RadSite’s accreditation activities for imaging facilities and systems
  • Standards Committee, which helps develop new quality and performance programs, along with revisions to the existing standards, based on emerging best practices and new regulatory requirements.

 

Committee members are appointed to one-year terms, which can be renewed for additional terms. RadSite is soliciting imaging providers, health care professionals, consumer representatives, business experts, employer representatives, association executives and government officials to serve on its committees.

RadSite offers an array of quality-based, cost-savings assessment certification and accreditation programs that promote best practices in imaging and other specialty services across the United States and its territories. Its comprehensive programs highlight opportunities for imaging facilities to achieve a high level of quality that benefits all members of the health care continuum.
